You'll journey directly to the lush highlands surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater, a landscape of rolling hills and coffee plantations that offers a serene welcome to Tanzania. Depending on your arrival time, we'll head straight into the crater for a breathtaking afternoon game drive, or you can simply relax at your lodge, soaking in the peace and quiet before the real safari begins.

After a delicious breakfast, you'll embark on a scenic drive toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. With your Tazama guide at the helm, you'll traverse the breathtaking landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the first glimpse of the vast plains will take your breath away. We'll enter the park in the central region, known as Seronera, a rich wildlife hub. This afternoon will be your first immersive game drive, seeking out lion prides, vast herds, and the stealthy leopard. As dusk settles, you'll arrive at your luxury tented camp, where the sounds of the African bush will be your evening lullaby.

After an early breakfast, you’ll venture out on a scenic drive from the heart of the Central Serengeti toward the remote northern reaches near the Mara River. This route offers spectacular game viewing along the way, as you pass through rolling savannah and acacia woodlands alive with wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for cheetahs scanning the plains and vast herds of wildebeest and zebras moving northward during the migration season. Arrive in the North Serengeti by afternoon, where you’ll settle into your camp and head out for your first game drive in this extraordinary wilderness, famous for dramatic river crossings and predator action.

Today is dedicated entirely to discovering the wonders of the North Serengeti. After an early breakfast, you’ll set out on morning and afternoon game drives along the Mara River and the surrounding plains. This region is renowned for its breathtaking wildlife encounters—watch for vast herds gathering at the riverbanks, crocodiles lurking in the shallows, and predators waiting for their chance. During migration season, you may witness the unforgettable drama of wildebeest crossing the river. Between drives, you’ll return to camp to relax and enjoy lunch before heading back out to explore until sunset paints the landscape in golden light. In the evening, gather around the campfire and listen to the distant calls of the wild as you recount the day’s adventures.

Enjoy one last breakfast in the bush before a short drive to the local airstrip. Here, you'll board a small plane for a scenic bush flight that offers a final, sweeping view of the Serengeti's endless plains. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a new Tazama representative will meet you and transfer you to Moshi. You’ll spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel, reflecting on your safari memories, and preparing for the next, monumental chapter of your adventure: the climb to Africa’s summit.

Your day of ascent begins as your professional Tazama climbing crew meets you at your hotel. After a thorough briefing and gear check, you'll be transferred to Londorossi Gate, the entry point for the Lemosho Route. This is a quieter and more beautiful trail that offers incredible views and excellent acclimatization. You'll begin your trek through the lush, misty rainforest, a magical world of giant trees, moss, and unique flora. We will take our time, as the Tazama philosophy is to move slowly and appreciate every step.

Today, the trail opens up. As you leave the rainforest, the landscape changes dramatically, revealing the high moorlands and the vast Shira Plateau, an ancient volcanic caldera. You will trek across this expansive, undulating landscape with breathtaking views of the main Kilimanjaro peaks in the distance. The air will feel crisper, and the scenery more epic with every step, as you make your way to Shira 1 Camp.

The trek continues across the Shira Plateau. It will be a longer, but gentle, day of hiking as you cross the high point over the caldera. You'll descend to the secluded Moir Hut Camp, a beautiful, off-the-beaten-path location that offers a more intimate experience. Your guide will lead an optional acclimatization hike in the afternoon, allowing your body to prepare for the higher altitudes to come.

This day is crucial for your acclimatization. We will ascend to the towering Lava Tower at 4,600 meters, a challenging but rewarding climb that helps your body adjust to the altitude. You'll take a break for lunch at this high point, then descend over 600 meters into the beautiful Barranco Valley. This strategy—walking high and sleeping low—is key to a successful summit. The view of the Great Barranco Wall from camp is magnificent.

Today's challenge is exhilarating: climbing the Great Barranco Wall, a formidable rock face that hikers refer to as "the breakfast wall." It looks intimidating, but with the support of your Tazama guide and porters, you'll scramble up safely and confidently. The view from the top is your reward. You'll continue through valleys and across ridges to Karanga Camp, where you'll have a warm dinner and a restful night's sleep before the final push.

The path today leads you through the alpine desert to Barafu Camp, also known as "Summit Camp." Located at 4,600 meters, this camp offers breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. You will spend the afternoon resting, preparing your gear, and having an early dinner. Your Tazama team will prepare you for the midnight climb to Uhuru Peak. This is the last stop before the final ascent, and the excitement will be palpable.

The day you've been dreaming of has arrived. Around midnight, you will begin your final ascent under a sky filled with stars. The climb is slow and steady, but with the constant encouragement of your Tazama guide, you will reach Stella Point just in time to witness the African sunrise. As the sun’s golden rays spread across the continent, you'll feel an unparalleled sense of accomplishment. A final push brings you to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa! After celebrating, you'll begin your triumphant descent to Mweka Camp, tired but filled with an overwhelming sense of pride.

After a well-deserved breakfast and final group photo, you'll begin your final descent through the montane forest to Mweka Gate. At the gate, you will receive your official summit certificates before a vehicle transfers you back to Moshi. That evening, you'll enjoy a well-earned celebration dinner, sharing stories and laughs with your climbing crew and fellow travelers.

After breakfast at your hotel, a Tazama representative will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure. You will leave with a camera full of memories and a heart full of pride, having conquered two of Tanzania's greatest wonders.
