WITW will provide a safe and supportive space that can lead to a life changing experience, Africa is truly a magical place! 

We understand that such a trip can feel daunting sometimes and your safety is our priority, so you will be taken care of by experienced and knowledgeable guides, teachers and chefs.

You will get to see and feel the amazing wild nature, watch the sunrises and sunsets, smell the air, taste the food, meet the local community and experience the culture. 

You will practice Yoga and get the chance to rejuvenate your body and your mind, you will dance till you drop, you will learn how to journal and how to keep these practices, integrating them into your life when you are back at home. You will share these precious moments with other women from all walks of life. 

We will offer you the tools to reconnect to yourself, and your feminine energy that has always been there. And, of course, there will be time to just unwind and relax.

You will leave with sun-kissed skin, messy hair and sparkle in your eyes.


about the Yoga 

During your personally curated trip, you will be offered daily Yoga practices. The schedule and types of classes are specifically tailored so as the tour progresses, you will re-charge and re-balance, creating a  deeper connection with yourself.

We will start with a morning Vinyasa Flow class: imagine Sun Salutations to the raising African Sun, a strong class to prepare you for the day. We will focus on the correct alignment, so that the practice is safe, whilst unlocking the potential of your body. ( you may be surprised) Evening practices will be usually more gentle Slow Flow and Restorative: imagine longer holds, gentle stretches and beautiful relaxation at sunset.

Yoga is the unity between body, breath and mind and we will look at all these aspects. You will learn different breathing techniques (Pranayama), both in the morning and in the evening practice. You will have a chance to stretch and strengthen your body (Asanas – the Yoga poses)) and there will be of course space for some quiet time, getting the mind focused (Meditation).Mats, straps and bolsters will be provided.

There are also few special classes prepared for you, such as a 90-minute deep stretch or a dance meditation. You will also get the chance to taste a flirt dance class.All abilities and levels of Yoga practice are welcome: Yoga is for EVERY BODY.

You are also very welcome to take extra private classes during the day.


Meet Jen

Jen has a passion for health and wellness and has been involved in the wellbeing industry for over 30 years, with a particular interest in women and children. Her background has evolved over her working life from paediatric nursing to alternative health practitioner, specializing in holistic energy medicine. 

Jen holds a diploma in Holistic Healing and Holistic Counseling, a certified Mora Therapist, Bach Flower and Tissue Salt Practitioner. Jen has run workshops and retreats for women and co-facilitated leadership and resilient programs for children in Australia and East Africa. Spending time in East Africa, working, volunteering and travelling, Jen fell in love with the people, culture, landscape and wildlife and found that these extraordinary experiences became life changing.

“There is a palpable magic in East Africa where you find yourself disconnecting with the world and reconnecting with yourself”. Hosting Women’s wellbeing retreats in East Africa evolved naturally.

Jen looks forward to being your host and guiding you along a new journey of self-discovery, deep connection, rejuvenation and transformation. 


Meet Sarka

Teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, Slow Flow and Stretching and is so honoured to be the Yoga teacher for WOMEN IN THE WILD. She loves being curious and finding where our body can go, whilst keeping it safe by focusing on correct alignment and working with the breath. Sarka is a 500hrs certified Yoga Teacher (200hrs BodyMindLife, Sydney, Australia, 300hrs AYM, Rishikesh, India) and has been teaching sports (dance, gymnastics and snowboarding) for 15years. Yoga has been an important part of Sarka’s life since she was about 18 years old. 

There were moments when Sarka loved it for relieving back pain from hours of sitting in the office, other times Sarka came to the mat to get a great workout and increasingly more to find peace and reconnect body and mind. Sarka loves sharing this experience with her students.

Sarka is originally a journalist and that is how she came to Africa for the first time – working on a radio internship in Ghana. Sarka fell in love with the continent, the nature, the culture and the people and has been coming back ever since. There is always a reason to go to Africa. Sarka has worked as a journalist on various projects, but also found time to learn and work with local dancers and acrobats. In 2018 Sarka had an opportunity to work in a 5star resort in Zanzibar, teaching yoga and taking care of the wellbeing of the guests. 

Sarka now lives and teaches in various studios around Sydney and can’t wait to go back to Africa and share Yoga practice in this magical part of the world with you.
